Lake Shore Drive Condos for Sale
THE LOCATION
The Carlyle is located on Lake Shore Drive between Cedar and Bellevue. It currently has a Walk Score of 97 and a Transit Score of 88. It’s less than 1/2 a mile from the Red Line at Division & Clark. See it’s interactive Walk Score Map below.
THE BUILDING
This 40 story building with 130 condos was built in 1964. A and B units are accessed via the south elevators. C and D units are accessed via the north elevators. The top floor includes an indoor pool and new excersice room. There’s also huge party room with the largest kitchen I’ve seen for a condo building. The kitchen can definitely accomodate large events. On-site parking is leased with valet service provided. There are 3 door staff from 6 am to 11 pm. The staff will bring all groceries and other packages to your unit.
This is a no pet building. No dogs. No cats. The Carlyle Condo Association also prohibits grilling on private balconies and on the roof deck. There have been some discussions about providing grills on the roof deck.
Utilities included in the monthly assessment include cable TV and water.
THE CONDOS
What’s distinctive about all of The Carlyle condos is that the master suites all have 2 baths. On the floor plans they’re titled “His Bath” and “Her Bath” and many of the listings refer to his and her baths. Since we’ve progressed a bit since 1964 I suggest that dual master baths would be a more appropriate term. We don’t need to imply anything about the genders of the occupants or who would choose either bath. All units have views of Lake Michigan and at least one balcony. Cooking appliances are electric. Most Recent Sale: 15A, a 3 bedroom sold in May for $1,275,000.

Agree on the dual master baths. Let’s also get rid of the term “his & her closets”. Dual closets will suffice.

Two master bathrooms! How forward thinking for 1964! There are lots of couples that prefer their own bathrooms.
KC, Yes, I’m working with a couple now that require their own bathrooms. The Carlyle would be a great building for them except its no pets policy is show stopper.
