THE BUILDING
Built in 1929 1242 N Lake Shore Drive houses 35 apartments on 27 floors. According to Emporis.com, the 2-story penthouse was occupied during the 1960s and 1970s by McDonald’s founder Ray Croc. Leased parking is available nearby. As is typical with co-ops, an application and interview with the co-op board is required. A minimum down payment of 50% is required.

Very few of the co-ops have a balcony or terrace. Cooking appliances are electric. The most recent sale was unit 7N, a 3 bedroom that sold in September for $699,005.
