1547 N Dearborn Pkwy was built in 1891, just 20 years after the Great Chicago Fire and before the neighborhood was even called the Gold Coast.

It is the second largest home currently on the market in Chicago. It has 18,590 square feet of space. Only 1955 N Burling in Lincoln Park is larger with 20,000 square feet.
There are 4 levels including a basement. All levels are connected by an elevator and back stairway. A front stairway connects all levels except the top floor. There is a spiral staircase on the exterior as a fire escape.
The home has much of the original woodwork. One of the most notable features of the home are the original stained glass windows along the front stairway.
