THE BUILDING
240 E Illinois was built in 2006. The high-rise houses 281 condos within its 31 stories. Pets are ok and the building has its own dog run. The building has a media room, business room, exercise room, sauna, sundeck and outdoor pool. I haven’t been able to find a public web site for the condo association.
THE CONDOS
All of the condos have in-unit laundry (typically stacked) and at least one balcony. Cooking appliances are gas. Brands I’ve repeated seen include Thermador, KitchenAid, Frigidaire and Bosch. Most of the condos are in the high-rise portion of the building. A smaller number are lofts on the south side of the parking levels. The most recent sale at 240 E Illinois was unit 3001, a 3 bedroom which sold in June for $925,000.

there are actually 3 associations, 1 for the highrise condos, 1 for the lofts, and 1 for the parking.
you need to be above floor 23, to see past the embassy suites to the east.
any clue to why 1/1.5 in this building seem to command a premium over other in the area (600 n FB and 160 E Illinois)

Especially on the south side, 240 E Illinois has better views than 600 N Fairbanks and 160 E Illinois. From what I’ve seen condos in 240 E Illinois also have higher end finishes than those in 160 E Illinois.
