THE LOCATION
3740 N Lake Shore Drive is located on Lake Shore Drive between Waveland and Grace. The building currently has a Walk Score of 91 and a Transit Score of 78. The Red Line Stop just south of Sheffield and Irving Park Road is just over half a mile away. See its interactive Walk Score Map below.
THE BUILDING
3740 N Lake Shore Drive was built in 1924 and houses 60 condos in its 16 stories. The building has 24 hour door staff. There is a common laundry area and washers and dryers are not allowed. Pets are allowed. It is also known as the twin towers since 3730 Lake Shore Drive building is connected to it.

The building entrance is a glass hallway with sliding glass doors that open up to a lovely English Garden with terraces, a playground and grilling areas.

The building has parking available. The garage ownership is deeded sold seperately with an average list price of $45,000. One can find spaces to lease for about $300 per month. The nearby building residents also purchase or rent parking from 3740 garage. Each elevator foyer is shared by only 2 condos.
THE CONDOS
Floor plans are spacious. The A tier units are larger and have very nice lakeviews. The original floor plan has a Dining Room, Living Room, 2 large size bedrooms and the 3rd is smaller and refered to as the maids room. The A tier units also have a library and the B tier does not. Cooking appliances are gas. The most recent sale at the twin towers was at the 3730 N Lake Shore building. It was unit 10A, a 2,480 sq ft 3 bedroom which sold in May 2013 for $910,000. It also came with 2 garage spaces and had unobtructed park and lake views.
