This weekend I showed houses in the Aurora area. One of the most memorable houses was the Victorian shown left located in the Aurora East Side Historical District.
Built in 1990 the home was a treat to view with its well maintained original woodwork including several built-ins, stain glass windows, and a huge walk-up attic. The 4 bedroom 2 1/2 home includes 2 fireplaces, a 5 year-old kitchen and a butler pantry. The home is so well preserved, it won a mayor’s award in 1992.
My buyers liked the house, but knowing that they’ll be moving in 2 years decided on a home with faster resale potential. While most people appreciate the beauty of Victorians, only a small part of the market actually wants to live in one. Like luxury homes which have a smaller market, they often take longer to sell.
