Another Opinion on Attic Mold

Yesterday I met with Dan Horvath of Harry Bellock & Associates (general contractors) at a townhouse where mold was found during the home inspection (see Home Inspection Finds Attic Mold). Dan has done a lot of work for insurance companies whose policy holder’s homes have suffered damage. He confirmed that there were no leaks allowing excess moisture into the home’s attic. He agreed with the mold remediators that the mold was due to a previous lack of ventilation in the attic.

At this point my buyers have gotten 3 professional opinions on the condition of the home: a home inspector’s, a mold remediator’s and a general contractor’s. With a home being such a significant purchase, this is time and money well spent.
