A home seller in Brookfield almost lost his cat on Saturday when I showed his house. When I schedule a showing, the listing broker typically mentions if there are any pets loose in the home. That didn’t happen for this showing, so my buyers and I were quite surprised when a cat darted out to the front step after I opened the door. As the cat started to leap down to the yard I quickly grabbed it and took it inside the house. A few other times when we went out the back door, the cat tried to escape as well.
Had the discount broker provided more service to the seller, they would have informed me about the cat so that I would have been more cautious when opening the door. It’s often the little things that can make a big difference in a home selling experience. If you have a cat in your home, make sure your listing broker mentions it to all agents who show your home.

Wow, that’s a pretty harsh thing to have happen! I bet the owner would be happy to know that you were so kind to catch the cat before it got outside though!
