Yesterday the nice folks at Mortgage Finders Network named this blog the Best Real Estate Blog in Illinois! It’s quite a compliment in light of all the other real estate blogs in Illinois.
Real estate blogging has changed a lot since I started blogging January 1, 2006. Back then very few other Realtors were blogging and even fewer were sticking with it. I didn’t have a clear idea of what I would write about. Some Realtors provide a lot of charts and market analysis. Others write about what’s going on in their area. I just knew that I wanted to provide a helpful resource for buyers and sellers in the Chicago area. What evolved was a sharing of my personal experiences giving readers a sense of my values and how I serve my clients. To liven things up, I try to throw in a little real estate humor now and then. 
The award is very nice, but the best compliments come from those of you who contact me saying you’ve enjoyed reading my blog and think you would enjoy working with me! Yes, you would!

Seriously, the blogs I continue to read are all written by people who are engaging writers as well as experts in their field. And what makes them engaging is that like you they put themselves into their blog. So there’s a sense of personal connection even with people I’ve never met. And I second your motion above – people most definitely will enjoy working with you! Hope your day included cake with candles, too!
