This morning I was searching for a house in Park Ridge for a woman and her mother. We’ve been looking at ranch houses in the Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect area for a while. This week the daughter asked me to expand searches to include Park Ridge.
The mother is 84, so they need a house with at least 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom on the first floor. We’ve looked at a lot of ranch homes. However, not all the bedrooms need to be on the first floor, so I setup some additional searches today for homes where at least 1, but not all bedrooms are on the first floor.
As our population ages, homes with at least 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom on the first floor will appreciate better than homes that do not. I’m already getting requests from middle-aged buyers who either want the main level bedroom and bathroom for their parents who come to visit or for themselves.
