Scott (left) & boyfriend, Christopher, on Scott's Rooftop Deck
Chicago’s Gay Pride Parade is in Boystown tomorrow. So I thought I’d share the story of my buyer, Scott, who recently closed on the purchase of a Boystown condo.
Scott was moving from a house in the suburbs. He wanted a 3 bedroom condo with a good amount of outdoor space and a garage spot. We saw quite a few 3rd and 4th floor walk-ups with rooftop decks. After some consideration Scott decided that he wasn’t interested in walking up and down so many stairs.
Shortly after that a 3 bedroom Boystown condo with a rooftop deck in an elevator building came on market. Scott and I attended the open house. Afterwards Scott asked me to look at the comparable sales data. I was going to the next day, but after thinking more about the condo on my way home I decided I better do the research asap. My gut feeling was right. When I submitted Scott’s offer the next morning, I learned that there were already 2 other offers. Scott upped his initial offer and beat out the other 2 that evening.
Last week Scott had a condo warming party where my partner, Mary Kaye, and I got to meet some of the other owners in his building. They were interesting to talk with and very friendly! Not only does Scott love his condo in Boystown, but the neighbors as well!

Great post Fran. I am flattered. It was a wild ride that day for sure.
Thanks, Scott! You were great to work with!
