Character Counts Banners in Glenview, ILYesterday I showed homes for sale in Glenview, Niles, Park Ridge, and Arlington Heights. While in downtown Glenview I noticed the Character Counts banners shown left.

Character Counts is a youth ethics initiative which promotes what it calls The Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. The national program is administered by the non-profit Josephson Institute of Ethics founded by Michael Josephson.

Over 25 other Chicago suburbs are also participating in the program.

With Glenview houses selling for an average of over $755K in the past 12 months (up over 11% from the previous year) and 80 homes selling for over a million dollars, its great to see the town taking an active role in promoting such non-material values.
