Chicago’s Case-Shiller Index for August 2010 rose 0.4% from July extending the 4 previous months of increases. Between June and July it rose 1.0%. The Chicago index is down 2.9% from August 2009. The index is based on resales of houses in the Chicago Metro Area. It’s published with a 2 month lag.

The Chicago Case-Shiller Condominium Index dropped 2.0% from July. From June to July it was flat rising just 0.1%. The condo index is down 7.3% from August 2009.
