Chicago’s Case-Shiller Index & Condo Index both rise in May!

Chicago’s Case-Shiller Index for May rose 1.7% from April, it’s first rise since August 2010. The index is down 8.1% from May 2010. The housing index is at its May 2001 level. The housing index is based on resales of houses in the Chicago Metro Area. It’s published with a 2 month lag.

The Chicago Case-Shiller Condominium Index for May rose 2.9% from April, even better than its 2.5% rise from March to April. The condo index is down 15.6% from May 2010. The condo index is back to its August 2000 level.
