After viewing houses in Oak Park on Sunday, my buyers and I decided to check out some houses just north of Oak Park in Chicago’s Galewood Neighborhood on Monday.
As show on the left outlined in red, Galewood is just north of Oak Park on the other side of North Ave. (Hwy 64) and just east of Elmwood Park on the other side of Harlem (Hwy. 43). Galewood’s east border is Austin Ave. Its north border is Fullerton.
One quirk about Galewood is that instead of having a zip code that starts with 606 as other Chicago neighborhoods do; it shares the same zip code as neighboring suburb, Elmwood Park, 60707.
For more information on Galewood, check out Pioneer Press 2008 Galewood Community Guide.
