Chicago has a lot of great transportation hubs. If driving, parking can be an issue but here is a helpful monthly parking map with options: spothero.com

In remarks to your question; “what is guaranteed in this economy” - While we cannot guarantee a job and the income tied to that borrower job, once the loan closes it is closed, they are guaranteed that mortgage. 24 hours before closing we verify they are still contracted to work within 60 days.
No different from a person in an active job today, closes today on their home and is terminated from that job tomorrow; the mortgage is still in place.

This feels like a slippery slope. What is guaranteed in this economy? Are there contingencies in place for if the employment doesn't go through?

"I don’t recommend scheduling showings through listing agents."

Don't forget to add that they will pounce on you like a frat boy on a drunk girl if you tell them you aren't working with an agent. They will offer to set you up with emails showing you whats on the market, because you obviously just lucked upon their listing, you couldn't possible be capable of researching the market yourself.

Oh and those lovely MLSConnect accounts they set you up with...nothing like seeing the same listing over and over again every time the seller relists or drops their price a couple bucks.

Union Square Condo Association rules do NOT allow owners or tenants to sublet their parking spaces to anyone living outside the building. Please contact 312-494-9306 or Lieberman Management Services 312-202-9300 for more information.

Hi Kristine,

I think the decline in inventory will lead to a strengthening of the market assuming there isn't a decline in buyers!

Wow, that trend is pretty stark. Hopefully the decline in inventory will lead to a strengthening in the market. We'll see if banks are allowed to rent out foreclosures instead of dumping them on the market, I think that will have a bigger effect than people predict.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems the developers want more "skin in the game" upfront than maybe in the past few years. My guess is that they are trying to determine who is serious and who is just "window shopping". I know you have probably run into this, but there is nothing more frustrating than the "serial home offer" by the same client moving from property to property until they finally believe that they have gotten the best deal.

However, there are some developers that might be missing an opportunity for cash strapped home buyers. I see a lot of clients getting gift funds for the downpayment...More so in the past. These funds aren't always readily available..

On one hand, I'm really hoping that the market starts to turn around real soon, but a I currently am looking t buy, this is good news! 4-bdm townhomes aren't a bad investment property either. Great info. Thank you!
