Saturday’s Chicago Tribune Business Section had an interesting article on home staging titled, “Stagers enter home sale scene” by Mary Umberger.
The owners of a Lindenhurst home I showed on Sunday need some staging assistance. The photo on the right shows how their laundry area looked when my buyer and I visited.
Even if they had a lot of laundry to do that day, they could have at least kept the dryer door closed and picked up the socks and bottles on the floor and counter.
As messy as this looks, one might think we showed up at the house unannounced, but I scheduled the appointment back on Friday so the owners had plenty of warning that the house was being shown.

Whoa. Makes me wonder if the sellers really want to sell.
I think a lot of home sellers are so attached to their homes, they think others will overlook clutter. They won’t. In this buyers market, homes have to look their best to compete for buyers.
