Disappointment in Naperville

The timing of events in life can see rather cruel at times. Last Wednesday I wrote about my buyers who had to submit their “highest and best” offer on a home in Naperville. On Thursday we learned that the seller selected their offer over the other offer. Thursday night the buyers and I met to initial the changes to the initial offer. When I left them they were ecstatic about their new home. Friday I faxed the initialed offer to the listing agent and he faxed it back to me with the seller’s signature. We had a deal. Unfortunately, something else happened on Friday, one of the buyers was layed-off.

Without that income, they won’t be able to qualify for a mortgage, so the home won’t be theirs. There will be other jobs and other homes, but for now, there’s just a lot of disappointment.

That’s just terrible! My heart goes out to them.
