Today I started searching for a 2 bedroom condo in Bucktown or Wicker Park for a couple. Bucktown is a large popular neighborhood in the east part of the Logan Square area of Chicago. The east, north, and west boundaries are the Chicago River, Fullerton Parkway, and Western Avenue. The southern border isn’t agreed on by everyone. Some say it’s Bloomingdale Avenue, but the Bucktown Community Organization defines it as North Avenue.
Wicker Park is just south of Bucktown in the north part of the West Town area. (Does that make any sense?
) Since its northern border is Bucktown’s southern border, it’s Bloomingdale or North depending on who you listen to. The Wicker Park Committee defines it as Bloomingdale Avenue. Thus, the area between Bloomingdale and North is claimed by both Bucktown and Wicker Park. There isn’t much argument on Wicker Park’s remaining boundaries, Ashland, Division and Western. But you never know. One day the Ukrainian Village on Wicker Park’s southern border or East Humboldt Park on its west border could decide to make a land grab! Stay tuned!

Interesting, these are two areas I’m considering as well. I’d be curious to hear comparisons between the two from your experience.
