Here’s a list of all the luxury vintage condos and co-op apartments I’ve written about that are on East Lake Shore Drive. This block of history buildings stretches from Michigan Avenue at Oak Street east to North Lake Shore Drive. The only non-residential building on the block is the Drake Hotel at the west end.
Some Chicagoans consider East Lake Shore Drive part of the Gold Coast which extends to the north. Others consider it part of Streeterville which extends to the south.
East Lake Shore Drive
The East Lake Shore Drive District was designated a historical landmark in 1985. It includes the Drake Hotel, 179 to 229 East Lake Shore Drive and 999 N Lake Shore Drive which sits at the east end of East Lake Shore Drive.
