Gold Coast’s E. Lake Shore Drive Broker Tour 01/12/10

This afternoon I attended broker tours on East Lake Shore Drive in the Gold Coast. Eight different agents from a variety of brokerages wisely coordinated and promoted their tours so that agents could tour 9 different condos on the 2 block strip of East Lake Shore Drive between Michigan Avenue and Lake Shore Drive. One of the condos on the tour was a home that out-of-town buyers of mine were interested in seeing, but weren’t able to fit into their schedule when they last visited Chicago. So I took advantage of the tour to preview it and see some of the other condos on the tour. A few comments…

219 E Lake Shore Drive 12CD listed at $4.1M has 4,500 SF of beautiful, traditional style with main and service elevators. What caught my attention was the clever use of space in the master bath. The shower (shown left) had doors on 2 sides allowing access from a single sink and toilet area just off the bedroom and access from the rest of the master bath with dual sinks and whirlpool tub off the dressing room.

189 E. Lake Shore Drive 7E listed at $2.995M also with 3,800 SF has the most contemporary style and the most unusual personal property on display. A huge sailfish is mounted on the wall above the kitchen sink!

189 E. Lake Shore Drive 2E listed at $2.795M with 3,800 SF has the best outdoor space of the homes I toured today with a huge 32 x 18 terrace.
