This morning’s Chicago Tribune has a good article for home buyers, but it wasn’t in the real estate section. According to the article by Lisa Anderson, “In a recent issue of the prestigious journal Science, Dutch researchers reported that the more complicated the decision, such as pondering the acquisition of a house or a mate, the better the outcome if one simply doesn’t dwell on it.”
I won’t go anywhere near how to make a decision on a mate!
A quote I really liked from the article was from Michael Horowitz, a clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst and president of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. “A good leader doesn’t get all the data before making a decision. A good leader gets enough data.”

Fran – a good book on this subject is Blink by Malcolm Gladwell which describes how & why decisions made “in a blink” are often correct. it’s fascinating and backs up your comments above.
