Home sellers in the Chicago area are becoming more aware of the benefits of home staging. I provide my sellers home staging assistance and based on results have no doubts about it’s benefits. However, there is no standard definition of home staging. Here’s my suggestion…
“Home staging is modifying the contents and exterior of a home to optimize the presentation of the home to home buyers.”
Home staging is different from home decorating in that it shows-off a home’s features (e.g. a fireplace or nice view) and helps buyers visualize themselves living there.
There are 2 good cable programs, A&E’s “Sell This House” and HGTV’s “Designed To Sell“.
