Inventory of houses for sale in Lakeview’s most popular price range soaring!

Yesterday I showed houses in several areas of Chicago including Lakeview. As the chart above shows via the green bars, the most Lakeview house sales have been in the $800K to $900K price range during the past year.^* There were 10 sales in that price range. The black outlined bars show that the most house sales during the prior year were in the $900K to $1M price range. 14 houses sold in that price range.

The 2 lines that extend from the top to the bottom of the chart show the change in median sale price between the prior year (black) at $1.125M and this past year (green) at $980K.

A look at the inventory of houses for sale in the $800K to $900K price range over the past 2 years (chart below) shows that at the end of September the number of such Lakeview homes for sale at its highest with 17 houses on the market! The average number of such homes for sale over the past 2 years has been 9.
