Yesterday afternoon I showed a couple of buyers houses in Arlington Heights and Prospect Heights. One of the homes (shown right) is a new home a short walk to downtown Arlington Heights offered at $949,900.
Prospect Heights is a small suburb just east of Arlington Heights, but you might have heard it mentioned in the past week. One of the founders of YouTube.Com, Steve Chen, used to live there. YouTube.Com was bought by Google for $1.65 billion last week.
What really caught my attention in Prospect Heights were several small yard signs reading, “H2O is a Go!” One of my other buyers was interested in a house in Prospect Heights until she learned its water supply was a private well. That’s the case for many homes there. I went to the City of Prospect Heights Website and learned that the city is considering tapping in to Lake Michigan water. That would definitely make Prospect Heights homes attractive to more buyers.

I found out today that the water issue is on the ballot in the upcoming elections and is expected to easily pass.
