I showed a buyer 8 houses in the Norwood Park area of Chicago today. We were both disappointed. Partially, I think, because the homes were so attractively described on the MLS sheets. Here are some phrases from the descriptions and what we actually found:
Quality built – The house had plastic tiles in the kitchen. A room added on back didn’t have a solid floor underneath it and the flat roof on top of it had several patches that were obviously coming loose.
Priced to sell quickly – The home has been on the market over 140 days and based on what I saw, I don’t expect it to sell anytime soon at the current price.
Complete new kitchen – There was no dishwasher.
3 good sized bedrooms – 13×12, 11×10 & 10×10 are not good sized for a house, maybe a tree house. ![]()
