The other night I was searching for a luxury home in the $2.5 to $3 million range for a client who wants to live in downtown Chicago so I started searching the Loop and Near North Side areas of Chicago.
The Loop area is bordered on the south by Roosevelt Rd (south end of Grant Park) and extends up to the Chicago River. It’s bordered on the east by Lake Michigan and on the west by the south branch of the Chicago River. The Near North Side area is bordered on the south by the Chicago River and extends up to North Ave. Like the Loop, it is bordered on the east by Lake Michigan. It’s bordered on the west by the north branch of the Chicago River.
There are several more homes to choose from in the Near North Side than in the Loop, so I expect we’ll be spending more time in the Near North Side. However, some possibilities in the Loop offer views of Millennium Park which would be very nice!
