I feel bad for some listing agents. Some of their clients make it next to impossible to sell their homes. Such is the case for a house I showed yesterday in Arlington Heights.
Priced in the upper $600Ks, the 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home in a nice neighborhood looked great online. It had nice curb appeal when we pulled into the driveway. My buyers even commented on the elaborate hardwood flooring in the living room. Then we entered the kitchen.
What a disaster! Part of the kitchen’s island shown left was typical of the entire kitchen! The rest of the house didn’t show well either.
When a home isn’t cleaned up before a showing it not only makes the house show poorly, it communicates to the buyers that the seller doesn’t care how they see the house. That’s not a good way to make a sale.
