Metropolitan Tower was built in 1924 and named the Straus Building. According to, it was the first high rise in Chicago with 30 or more floors. It was renamed Metropolitan Tower and converted to condos in 2007. It houses approximately 244 condos within its 30 stories. The building includes: 24 hour door staff, a fitness center, event room and a sundeck. Pets are ok, but there is an 80 lb. weight limit.

Parking spaces in the building are owned and deeded. So each parking space has it’s own monthly assessment and annual property taxes. Some parking spaces may be available for rent.
