If you are not viewing this graphic/post on ChicagoMetroAreaRealEstate.com, it is being used without permission. This week I listed a property, 3555 Beach, on Northbrook’s Citation Lake (shown left). The lake is located just east of I-294 between Techny and Willow roads. Many north suburbanites aren’t aware of the lake due to the tall barriers between I-294 and the homes on the west side of the lake.

One of the advantages of living in the Citation Lake Area is lower property taxes since the area is in unincorporated Cook County.

Taxes may be relatively lower, but homes prices are not. Two new homes on the market in the area are priced at $2.6 and $3.5 million.

Citation Lake has a voluntary association (Citation Lake Association) where donations are used to keep the lake environmentally clean, stock fish, and control the geese population. The association meets about every other month.
