Realtor® Referrals

This morning I referred a couple of buyers to another Realtor in Chicago. Into our discussion of their needs, I learned that what they really want to buy is a 2-flat. I don’t have any experience with 2-flats, 3-flats, or any other kind of multi-family housing, so I suggested to the buyers that I refer them to a Realtor who does and they agreed. Last week, I referred a couple to another Realtor who has more experience than I do in northern Lake County. In the past, I’ve referred home buyers and sellers to real estate agents across the U.S.

Referrals can be a win-win for everyone involved. The buyers and sellers get a Realtor who can better meet their needs. The Realtor who gets the referral gets business he or she wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. As the referring Realtor, I get a referral fee, if the clients make a purchase or sale using the Realtor I referred. Thus, I am motivated to refer them to the best Realtor I can find!
