If you don't see this photo/post on ChicagoMetroAreaRealEstate.Com, it has been used without permission. One evening while walking in the Prairie District Neighborhood in the South Loop on my way to meet with a seller, I came upon a stunning collection of 19th century mansions. Walk along the 1900 south block of Prairie Avenue and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time!

One of the mansions shown left is the Marshall Field Jr. Mansion at 1919 S. Prairie Avenue. My photography doesn’t do it justice. Built in 1890, the original 30,000 sf. mansion had 44 rooms and 13 fireplaces! The mansion was recently converted into 6 residences. Four are still available priced from $795,000 to $1,757,000.
