This is my 2012 ranking for the most expensive condo buildings in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood. Only condo buildings that had at least 2 sales recorded in Chicago’s multiple listing service (MRED) that closed in 2012 were included in the rankings. Only listed sales were used in determining median sale price for a building.
This year’s building list are all newer buildings with the exception of 3400 N Lake Shore Drive which is a 1922 vintage. It also is the largest condo building with 49 units to make this years top 10.
Seven out of the 10 are new construction completed in 2012. Most are 4 and 6 unit buildings. They are tasteful masonry designed buildings with large balconies and meld in with the neighborhood streetscape . The units are spacious with open floor plans in the main living areas. They have high end finishes, tech wiring, and a coveted garage space.
