Yesterday I worked on a market analysis for a home in Lake Barrington which is one of the 6 towns in the Barrington Area. Below are average sale prices1 over the past year for 3 and 4 bedroom houses in those towns. Waterfront homes are excluded. What I find most interesting is that all of the Barrington towns have higher average sale prices than Barrington itself with the exception of Port Barrington. The significantly lower prices for Port Barrington can be attributed to the fact that Port Barrington didn’t have Barrington in the name until a couple of years ago. It was formerly called Fox River Valley Gardens. It also isn’t included in the Barrington High School District.
| Barrington Area | Avg. 3 Bedroom House Sale Price | Avg. 4 Bedroom House Sale Price |

| North Barrington | $547K | $870K |
| Lake Barrington | $560K | $765K |
| Barrington | $462K | $681K |
| Port Barrington | $340K | $370K |
