I always tell my sellers that their home’s front door is a critical area for home staging. It’s part of the first impression buyers have of the home. It also gets closely examined by the buyers while their buyer’s agent is getting the key out of the key box and opening the door.
To drive home the importance of an attractive front door, the door company, Therma-Tru, for the second year in a row sponsored an ugliest door contest. The grand prize winner and second place winners will receive a new door system worth $3,000 to $5,000. Could you be next year’s winner?

I think we could! We have a pretty crappy front door. The handle of it was broken for the past couple of years and I recently fixed it but I think I put the new one on upside down. Works okay.
I get a sick feeling in my stomach thinking about all the things we would have to do to get ready to sell. Removing 8000 SpongeBob and Cinderella stickers from walls would be on the top of the “to do” list.
