The other day I started looking for condos in the West Loop for a buyer trying to decide if he wants to live in the city or the west suburbs. He’ll be working in Downers Grove and was concerned about the commute from the city. A friend of mine also works in a nearby area of Downers Grove and told me the commute from her condo in the West Loop ranges between 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes. That’s good enough for my buyer, so we’re going to take a look there.
The West Loop is a neighborhood in the Near West Side area of Chicago. The Near West Side is bordered by Kinzie and Roosevelt on the north and south and the south branch of the Chicago River and Rockwell on the east and west. The West Loop’s borders are Grand and I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway) on the north and south and the south branch of the Chicago River and Ashland on the east and west.
