The convenience of a grocery store located within a condo building is a huge plus for some home buyers. Since most of us visit a grocery store at least once a week it can be a great time saver. It’s also nice to be able to avoid going outside during inclement weather.
Of course, if self-control is a challenge, perhaps such quick access to Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby Ice Cream, DiGiorno Pepperoni Deep Dish Pizza or a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Brut may not be in your best interests!

A dozen downtown Chicago condos have a store where residents can buy food. They range from small convenience stores or commissaries to full size grocery stores. Most are also accessible to the public and utilized by residents of neighboring buildings. A few such as the Potash Market on the 44th floor of the John Hancock Building are accessible to only the condo residents.
Here’s a list of the downtown Chicago condos I know of with a grocery store. If I’ve missed any, please let me know!
