One of the best features of living in Streeterville is that so much is within walking distance. If you need to go farther, there are numerous transporation options. Streeterville is served by multiple bus lines. Two CTA Red Line Stops are walking distance in River North to the west. Every few blocks you’ll find car sharing and hourly car rentals.
For many residents a car isn’t necessary. If you choose to have a car in Streeterville, make sure you know all costs before buying a home. In some buildings like the John Hancock Center renting a parking space is the only option. In most buildings both buying and renting a parking space are available. Streeterville is bounded by Michigan Avenue on the west, the east branch of the Chicago River on the south and Lake Michigan on the east and north. It’s part of Chicago’s Near North Side which also includes the Gold Coast, River North and the south part of Old Town. The Near North Side is the northern section of downtown Chicago.
Condos, co-op apartments and townhomes are the only housing options for purchase in Streeteeville. Like in the Loop there are no houses.
