Condominiums with outdoor pools are located in the Douglas, Dunning, Edgewater, Gold Coast, Hyde Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Park and Loop neighborhoods. They are also in O’Hare, River North, South Loop, Streeterville, University Commons, Uptown, West Lawn, West Loop and West Ridge.
Six condo buildings have both an indoor and an outdoor pool. They are Aqua and Vista Tower in the Loop, One Chicago in River North, Lake Point Tower and One Bennett Place in Streeterville and One Museum Park East in the South Loop.
Three co-op apartments have indoor pools. They are 3750 N Lake Shore Drive in Lakeview, 5555 N Sheridan in Edgewater and 2444 – 2484 W Estes in West Ridge. There are no co-op apartments with outdoor pools in Chicago.
Pool maintenance and added insurance costs add significantly to monthly assessments. If you have a limited budget, consider if you’ll really use a pool consistently. If not, it may make more sense to buy in a condo building without a pool and pay to use a private or public pool. There are 90 public swimming pools in Chicago.
