They have central air conditioning and terraces. Cooking appliances are electric. All of the condos I’ve seem had in-unit laundry, but the building does have a common laundry.
Condos on the east and north sides have great lake views. Those on the south and west sides have great city views.

THE BUILDING
1000 N Lake Shore Plaza built in 1964 houses 132 condos in 55 stories. The building shows its age on the outside, but is far more impressive in the inside. It has a 24 hour door person, newly renovated exercise room and pool, and a roof deck.
The elevator foyers on each floor are shared by 2 condos. A and B tiers are on the east side of the building, but larger units may extend to the west side. C and D tiers are on the west side.
Purchases require board approval that can take up to 30 days. Rentals also require board approval.

THE LOCATION
1000 N Lake Shore Plaza is located 1 block from Chicago’s Lakefront at the northwest corner of Lake Shore Drive and Oak. Even though there is no street named Lake Shore Plaza, that’s the street address.
The building immediately to its north at Lake Shore Drive and Bellevue is 1000 North Lake Shore Drive. Unfortunately, the address similarity of these two buildings has caused confusion even among Gold Coast Realtors and in our multiple listing system. Do not confuse these nearly identical addresses. They are different buildings with different price points!
There’s a Potash Market grocery store 5 blocks away. There’s a pharmacy 3 blocks away.
