THE LOCATION
330 & 340 W Diversey Parkway also known as Commonwealth Plaza is located on the northeast corner of Diversey and Sheridan across from Lincoln Park in East Lakeview. The building currently has a Walk Score of 83 and a Transit Score of 77. The Red, Purple and Brown Lines are a 1 mile away just east of Belmont and Sheffield. THE BUILDING
Commonwealth Plaza was built in 1957, designed by Mies Van de Rohe and houses 376 condos within its 28 stories. There are 226 units in the 330 W Diversey building and 150 units in the 340 W Diversey building. These 2 buildings are full service amenity buildings. They have a 24-hr door staff, maintenance staff and a receiving room. The amenities include: an outdoor pool with a sundeck, grilling area, tennis courts, playground, hospitality room, exercise and coin laundry rooms. Other on site conveniences include a deli commissary and a valet cleaners. Parking is underground valet and leased for $175 per month. There is a long wait for a second garage space. Along with the other amenities the monthly assessments include heat, gas, central air, water, and TV/Cable. The pets allowed are cats only. Dogs are not allowed.

THE CONDOS
Close to 40% of the units have been combined. They have floor to ceiling windows. Cooking appliances are gas. Washers & dryers are allowed. The most recent sale at Commonwealth Plaza was unit 1708, a 2 bedroom unit with lake views which sold for $255,000 in May 2013.Â
