What makes an apartment rental in Chicago a luxury apartment rental? What one person may find luxurious, another may find uninhabitable. What used to be considered a luxury feature (e.g. stainless steel appliances, granite counters) are now commonplace.
I visited some web sites that promote themselves as “specializing in Chicago luxury apartments rentals”, “a full service Chicago luxury apartment finding service” or “luxury downtown rentals”. I found several listings that clearly are not luxury apartments.

So I decided to develop my own definition of Chicago luxury apartment rentals based on minimum rents for different areas. If anything, these are typically apartments I consider above average for the area.
