The inventory of listed Chicago 3 bedroom condos for sale continues to plummet. There were 3,053 3 bedroom condos for sale in Chicago in the second quarter down 18.5% from second quarter 2012 when there were 3,745 3 bedroom condos for sale.
The inventory of listed River North condos for sale continues to fall. There were 175 condos for sale in River North in August down 31% from August 2012 when there were 255 condos for sale. The percent of distressed sales (short sales and foreclosures) on the market dropped from 17% of the inventory to 5%.
The inventory of listed Chicago 1 bedroom condos for sale continues to plummet.* There were 2,658 1 bedroom condos for sale in Chicago in the second quarter down 18% from second quarter 2012 when there were 3,242 1 bedroom condos for sale.
The inventory of listed downtown Chicago luxury condos for sale continues to fall. There were 425 condos for sale priced at $1,000,000 or higher in downtown Chicago in the second quarter down 15.8% from second quarter 2012 when there were 505 luxury condos for sale.
Chicago’s Case-Shiller Index for June is up 7.3% from June 2012. It’s the eight consecutive month it’s been up compared to a year earlier.
