Over the past 4 days I showed over different 20 houses in Chicago. The number of houses in Chicago listed for sale reached a 3 year low in the first quarter of 2011. Only 10,890 houses were for sale down 9.7% from first quarter 2010.
As shown above, the number of Chicago houses for sale has been dropping since third quarter 2008. Falling inventory is good for sellers since they are competing with fewer other homes for sale.
