The inventory of listed condos for sale in Streeterville is down significantly from a year ago.* There were 273 condos for sale in Streeterville in May down 38% from May 2012 when there were 439 condos for sale.
In March I wrote about the inventory in February which was down 35% from a year earlier. As shown below, the inventory in May was down 63% from May 2008 when there were 734 Streeterville condos for sale.
The median sale price rose 16% to $468,000. The number of closed sales was up 24%, its highest level since August 2008. Pending sales were up 82% setting a 5 year high.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR STREETERVILLE CONDO BUYERS
Be prepared to encounter competing offers from other buyers. You need to be ready to buy when you find a condo you want.
