This block of history buildings stretches from Michigan Avenue at Oak Street east to the Streeterville portion of North Lake Shore Drive. The only non-residential building on the block is the Drake Hotel at the west end.
Some Chicagoans consider East Lake Shore Drive part of the Gold Coast which extends to the north. Others consider it part of Streeterville which extends to the south.
